Bristol Rovers' boss Paul Buckle: his players today clinched their first three points of the campaign
AFC Wimbledon 2
Bristol Rovers' boss Paul Buckle tonight praised his players after their victory over AFC Wimbledon in his first game at the helm and said: "We want to try to win every game."
With goals from Scott McGleish, Matt Harrold and Adam Virgo overshadowing efforts by Jamie Stuart and Charles Ademeno, Buckle said: "I am just very proud to give the supporters something to cheer about."
Rovers clinched their first three points of the campaign and showed why they are among the favourites to make a return to League One at the first attempt.
Statistics show that they had 16 shots on target, almost as many as the whole of last season, which bodes well for the months ahead.
Rovers will face Watford at home on Wednesday in the first round of the Carling Cup.
Their next League game is at home against Torquay United next Saturday.
