What do Kingswood People think of local bus services? Is there room for improvement?

We are being asked for our views in a customer satisfaction survey being carried out by South Gloucestershire Council.

Passengers are being asked to rate the frequency of buses, the routes, cleanliness, customer care from drivers, time spent waiting for buses to turn up, and the availability of seats and value for money.

The survey also asks whether people think bus services have improved in the last year, and if they have complained, how it was dealt with.

The survey runs until the end of this month.

Hi Bluebuttons, I think it's often a matter of the driver not really knowing what numbers to press. Over the years I've caught the No.6 and the price has changed up to 50p for the same journey and when I look at the ticket, the final destination is a different neighbourhood altogether. The No.6 bus used to be clearly marked as 6 and 6A, but on the councils websites for both Bristol and South Glos they just say 6. Here's the South Glos link http://tinyurl.com/4oe4ep3 I think it's just Wost bus in general. They put the price of fares up when oil reached $145 a barrel and never reduced them when oil was at $50 a barrel afterwards. The whole of Greater Bristol is 20 years in public transport provision. Taxi's are extremely overpriced and Worst Bus and Train services simply abuse the the former Avon area. They play the council's off each other and try their luck and stopping services, knowing that local government will subsidise the route, they are the biggest benefit scrounger of all.

Whilst in Kingswood the other week i had to use a bus to come home, bearing in mind i live on Hanham road and seldom use buses i was about to step onto a number 6 when the driver said no i dont go your route try the other number 6 bus behind me,why is there two Number 6 buses going in kingswood but venturing off into two different directions? its very confusing,
And why does it cost me £2.00 to travel 3 bus stops down Hanham road?

My bus was reasonably clean but it was a bumpy journey.

I do hope First Line will act on the findings but and it's a big, 'but' First Line couldn't give too figs for us the passengers. I'm just waiting for the fare increases and the reason, "due to careful consideration and holding out as long as possible, we are having to increase our fares due to the rise in fuel and VAT increase". As First Line are the main bus company they can charge what they like and they know it. The passengers are basically held to ransom, we have no choice but to pay it unless we cycle/walk etc. Most of the buses are untidy/dirty, not only on the inside but the outside. The amount of buses that look like they have just driven through a sandstorm is amazing. Until First Line have some competition they will continue to use old, dirty buses and charge loads of money for routes that should be half the cost they are and even cheaper. South Gloucestershire haven't any power over First Line until they let more companies drive the main routes.
