What will Kingswood people be doing this weekend? Here are five ideas for all the family.

1. Steven Spielberg's Oscar-nominated War Horse, hailed as one of the best movies of the year, opens this weekend - see it at Vue at Longwell Green.

2. Families are invited to help celebrate National Libraries Day tomorrow by visiting their local library and taking part in a variety of activities, reading events and workshops.

At Kingswood Library you can meet Woodstock councillor Gareth Manson from 10am to 11am and talk to Kings Chase councillors Pat Apps, Bill Bowrey and Terry Walker from 11am to midday.

There will be storytime and crafts for the under-eights at Hanham Library from 11.15am to 11.45am.

At Emersons Green Library from midday to 2pm there will be a computer support session for all ages. Cllr James Hunt will be holding a surgery at the library from 11am to 1pm and there will be a children's storytime and crafts from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. There will also be a book quiz at the library during the day for youngsters.

Cllr Ian Boulton will be holding a surgery at Staple Hill Library from 10am to 11am and then from 11am to 11.30am it will be storytime for pre-school children.

Pre-school children are also invited to a storytime session at Downend Library from 10.30am to 11am. And pop into the library from 2pm to 4pm and sample the family history website which can be accessed free in South Gloucestershire libraries.

3. Pay a visit to Kingswood Heritage Museum in Tower Lane, Warmley. Situated in William Champion's 18th century brass mill, there are displays dedicated to local social and industrial history. The museum is open on Sunday from 2pm to 5pm. Under-12s can get in for free and it's £2 for adults.

4. Warm up with a 55-minute Zumba class tomorrow at the Sir Bernard Lovell Sports Centre in Oldland Common tomorrow. Designed for parents and children over seven, the class starts at 9am and it's £6 for a parent and child, or £4.50 for an adult.

5. Wrap up well and take a walk along the Bristol & Bath Railway Path - why not stop off at the Bitton Bistro at Avon Valley Railway for refreshments Their home-made cakes are legendary!

It looks like we'll only get a little - if any - snow this weekend so those toboggans will have to stay in the shed for now!
