    CHRIS SKIDMORE CELEBRATES LORRY VICTORY

Local Kingswood MP, Chris Skidmore, is celebrating following the refusal of a planning application that would have seen an increase in lorries driving through Warmley throughout the night.

Chris, as the local MP, with local Warmley residents started a petition against the planning application – receiving over 200 signatures.

Chris commented, “For too long the residents of Warmley were taken for granted and had to put up with constant noise coming from lorries driving through the village. We came together and said ‘enough is enough’ and we have finally been listened to after years of campaigning. I would like to thank everyone who signed the petition – this is what we can achieve when we work together.”

Local councillor Valerie Lee added, “I would like to thank Chris as the MP and the residents of Warmley for all their help in organising the petition. The planning officers have finally put local residents first and I’m delighted this application has been refused.”

Planning application PK10/1868/RVC has been refused by planners at South Gloucestershire Council.

The owners of the industrial estate wanted to remove conditions on the premises which stopped large lorries driving to or from the estate between 7pm – 7am and on weekends and bank holidays.
