A 12-year-old girl from Fishponds has won a place on a top theatre course.
Sophie Morton, who attends John Cabot School in Kingswood, saw off competition from hundreds of talented youngsters to be selected for the two-week residential youth musical theatre course in Leeds.
She began her course yesterday and at the end of the two weeks will perform in three productions of a show called The Watchers at the Bradford Playhouse.
Mum Carole Gould, who lives in Forest Road, said: "She has been for auditions before and not got in so it goes to show that people can succeed after having some disappointments.
"Sophie loves dancing."
