Controversial plans for four detached houses with garages at Siston Common look set to be approved next week.

After concerns were raised by local councillor Valerie Lee and people living nearby,  South Gloucestershire councillors paid a site visit to Siston Hill Farm, a former farmhouse and abbatoir, to find out more about  Badminton Property Ltd's proposals.

Local residents are concerned that the design of the new buildings would have an overbearing impact on adjoining property, that views would be lost and house prices affected. Fears have also been raised about drainage implications for properties set at a lower level.

But planning officers do not object to the scheme and are recommending that the development control committee approves the scheme when it meets next Thursday.

The application number is PK10/0079/F. Visit the website at www.southglos.gov.uk.
