Good news for students in the Kingswood area who now get cheap bus tickets.

South Gloucestershire Council has worked with the Youth Parliament and local schools to promote the new bus pass called Youth Untltd, and has invested £1.2 million in it.

The pass gives half adult fare for any single or return journey ticket for travel into or out of South Gloucestershire. It can be used all day during school holidays, on weekends and bank holidays, and after 6pm on weekdays. It is for students aged 14 to 18 in full-time education or training and living in the district.

Peggy Farrington, headteacher at Hanham High School, said: “There has been a lot of interest in this new bus pass from our students.

"We have been promoting the scheme and are expecting a significant proportion of our students will take up this offer.”
