Bristol Rovers v Colchester United: The fans view

It was a lot better against Colchester after a performance at Gillingham that was absolutely horrendous.

I had never seen Rovers play so badly this season as they did at Gillingham. We couldn't pass or keep the ball and it was totally the opposite to how we had played against Charlton in the previous game.

We keep scoring goals against the top clubs at home and then don't even have a shot away. Two points from 33 away is ridiculous.

We need to sort out the away form or these wins at home will really count for little.

Dave Pearce, Wotton-under-Edge

It was a very interesting and entertaining game.

I thought Colchester had the better of the first half and we were probably a bit lucky to go in level at the break.

The second half was a lot better and we really started to move the ball around nicely. We were a lot more determined and lively.

Even when we were 3-1 up, I wasn't particularly confident and the last few minutes were absolute agony. It was a good performance but our inconsistency is very frustrating.

Graham Smith, Bath

We made very hard work of it in the last 10 minutes but, overall, it was a great result against a very good side.

We had plenty of chances and that was pleasing because in some games we never look like we are going to score.

Everybody worked very hard and Heffernan and Jones have slotted in perfectly.

Elliott has been different class since he came back into the side.

It is just strange that we can't play well against the so-called lesser teams.

Sharon Pike, Longwell Green

I didn't expect us to get anything against Colchester because I think they are a better side than Charlton.

I was really surprised at the way we played after how we had done at Gillingham last week.

You just never know which Rovers is going to turn up. We'll probably lose against Stockport now.

David Sinfield, Winterbourne

Oh dear - 3 points are three points, but what a boring game it was last night at the Mem.  Two very mediocre sides where one defensive error by Stockport and a pretty decent finish by the Gas was the only difference in the teams.

Have to hope for much better on Saturday against Swindon or we could get a bit of a West Country pummelling !

I think that when we get the ball down and pass it then we look like a decent side, but even against the giants of Colchester at times we decided to go for the big punt from front to back.  But our few moments of quality won the day, and I was glad in the end that the best footballing side won the day.

I wonder what the tactics will be tomorrow against the mighty Stockport ? Please lets play to feet !!!
