A speed review is being carried out in the Siston area where residents have complained about the volume and speed of traffic using their lanes as a short cut to avoid the Avon Ring Road.

Action is planned to make roads in the Siston area safer for everyone
The council is proposing action and the deadline for comments is Monday, June 7.
Council records show there were five personal injury accidents reported between January 2004 and April 2009 along Siston Lane and one on Goose Green.
A South Gloucestershire Council spokesman said: "The proposed scheme is intended to influence driver behaviour and encourage more careful driving with lower speeds.
"We hope that this will help to reduce the number of accidents along the route and will also discourage drivers using this road as a rat run.
"At the same time this should improve the environment for pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders."
The proposed speed limit review includes:
• Siston Lane to Webbs Heath: the introduction of a 40mph speed limit from its junction with the B4465 Shortwood Road to the current 30 mph speed limit at the junction with the A420 London Road
• Webbs Heath to Siston Hill via Goose Green: a 40mph speed limit from its junction with the Siston Lane/Webbs Heath to the current 30mph speed limit at the junction with the local farm access (158 metres north of the junction with Stanley Road)
• Gibbs Lane: the introduction of a 40mph speed limit from its junction with Siston Lane to the end of the lane
• The installation of speed limit repeater signs on all proposed 40mph speed limits
