The Kingswood Foundation continues to promote pedal power

On Wednesday 15th December the Kingswood Foundation put on another green cycling initiative to get visitors, tenants and staff thinking about their environmental impact.

Thanks to the generosity of Bristol City Council and South Gloucestershire County Council the Kingswood Foundation now owns a bicycle repair station and a selection of bikes both of which are available to loan out to users of the site.

Derek Pickup, the Estates Development Director at the Kingswood Foundation said “We are starting to reap the rewards of all our cycling initiatives and will continue to promote greener transport solutions where we can.  The idea of having loan bikes on site is inspired and for those wishing to pop in to Kingswood at lunchtime they can do so without adding to an already busy centre.”

The day also saw the Cycling City team, offering free advice and information on cycle routes, safety and other local initiatives.  The now famous Dr Bike was on hand to examine the bikes, do any minor repairs and recommend any maintenance that is needed – all for FREE!

If you would like more information about the transport and environmental policies at the Kingswood Foundation or would like to get involved then visit www.kingswood-foundation.org.uk or call 0117 947 7948.
