Will Kingswood's MP support controversial rise in university tuition fees?

This Thursday will see MPs voting on university tuition fees so I've contacted Kingswood MP Chris Skidmore's press office to find out whether he will be supporting the controversial rise.

Kingswood MP Chris Skidmore
The limit on fees could go up from £3,290 to £6,000, and universities, under certain conditions, could be allowed to charge up to £9,000 for some courses.
Mr Skidmore is a former lecturer at Bristol University where students have this week been camping out at the Senate House in the latest protest over tuition fees and education funding cuts.
Some Conservative MPs have already gone on the record as saying they will not be supporting the rise in fees.
I'll let you know what Mr Skidmore says.

seems to me the cuts are not to reduce a deficit but more to restore a class system and taking affordable education away from lower income people is just another way to do it - knowledge is power after all and if you deny knowledge you have the power !!

ReportStudents could get a tution fee loan before that they would have to pay back once earning over the threshold. The new system is not different, just way too expensive. It has just priced every working and some middle class students out of University. Of Course Mr Skidmore would vote for the fees, I wonder how much his parents paid for his education!!!!!!!!!

ReportFor the record, Mr Skidmore did vote for the trebling of university tuition fees, as did Jack Lopresti, MP for Filton and Bradley Stoke, which includes Downend and Staple Hill.

ReportI wouldn't say he's doing a excellent job, far too early to say that. Just because he has his picture taken talking to a few fire persons or picking up a bit of litter in a park etc doesn't make one great. Jury is def out.
