Kingswood Community Drum Circle

Kingswood Community Drum Circle is a new group starting in Bristol on Wednesday 5th October 2011 from 8 until 9pm at Kingswood Foundation, 20 Old School House, Britannia Road, BS15 8DB. The Circle will run every Wednesday. We ask participants to contribute £3 (£2 conc.) although the first session on 05/10/11 will be a free taster!

A Drum Circle is a gathering of people of all ages and abilities who come together to play drums, shakers, tambourines, wood blocks and anything else that makes a noise! The aim of the circle is to bring the community together in music and rhythm, discovering new and old ways of communication, bonding and entertainment!

So whether you have NEVER picked up a drum before or are a leather handed veteran EVERYONE is welcome to come along, have a go and ‘find your inner rhythm!’

A limited (but expanding) supply of drums and percussion instruments are provided including Djembes from Africa, Cajons from Spain, Darbukas from Egypt, Dholaks from India and various shakers and maracas from around the world.

Just to let you know there will be NO DRUM CIRCLE on Wednesday 16th November as we are away for a week. Don't worry we will be back the following Wednesday (we can only cope for one week without drumming ;) See you on the 23/11/11 x

Hi all! We've been invited to do a little showcase at the Creative Youth Network Launch at Kingswood Foundation. The event will include live bands, a marquee, Food, Fun and Fire (that we'll be playing around!) Try and come along to the Drum Circle on Wednesday@ 8pm and we can get a little practice in. Otherwise we'll see you at the event...wearing Black and Red ;)

Following a great first session last week we'll be doing it again this evening from 8pm until 9pm and every Wednesday following. Remember drums are provided and all ages and abillities are welcome. Hopefully see some of you there?????
