The competition is free to enter and open to everyone from the Bath and Bristol area.

There will be two main competitions - Adult and Junior. In the Adult competition, the overall winner will receive £250 worth of free quality bespoke picture framing from Framecraft; a number of prizes of £50 quality bespoke picture framing from Framecraft will also be available for subcategories that include: Photography/Digital, original Artwork in any media and for those that make use of recycled materials/environmental message.

The junior competition is open to anyone aged 16 and below, in three categories 12-16 years, 6-11 years and aged 5 & under; the winners will receive prizes of art materials and the winning submissions framed free of charge.

All winners will have their work displayed in Framecraft’s Bath Shop for the month of September. All other entries will be displayed on the second floor of their Keynsham Branch. All Adult entries must be framed to a high standard, be A3 (including Frame) or larger and able to fit (without support) on to an easel. Junior entries need only to be card backed and no bigger than A3. The entries will be judged for both Artistic merit and Environmental message.

The entries must be submitted by Wednesday 8th September 2010 and the judging will be on Sunday 12th September 2010 in Green Park Station, Bath. The judging event will also include live demonstrations and a number of charity organisation stalls where you can find out more about the environment.

The public are also invited to attend the Judging Day to inspect the artwork, where they can purchase their favourite art and vote for their own winner, in both the adult and junior categories. 15% of any sales of artwork from the competition will go to the Whales and Dolphins Conservation Society, a locally based international conservation society.

Judging will be performed by a panel including representatives from both the art and environmental community; these include renowned artists Olive Webb, The Whales and Dolphins Conservation Society, the Managing Director of Framecraft Edward Taylor and from The Ethical Property Company Janine Woodward.
