Three men were arrested on suspicion of the theft of a car following calls about suspicious behaviour in Oldland, Willsbridge Hill and Longwell Green yesterday (October 25).
Two men were aged 19 and the other was a 17-year-old.
At about 2.30am a call came to police reporting suspicious behaviour at a resident's garage. Youths were seen making off and a car was heard.
Soon afterwards officers responded to a call about suspicious activity in a garden in nearby Willsbridge Hill. A car made off from the scene and was abandoned in Longwell Green.
Temporary Neighbourhood Inspector Rachael Hodges said: "I'd like to thank the people who called us when they saw suspicious activity. They did exactly the right thing, looking out for their neighbours.
"This just shows how effective Neighbourhood Watch schemes can be and I'd encourage everyone to join."
The three have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
