One council has stopped their door step waste collection altogether, hopefully not a thing nationwide, but makes you wonder where the minds of the councils will be with the cuts they have to make: http://tinyurl.com/3dv3twe

    Hi King1and,
Cuts aside because too many councils seem to use this as an excuse at present. Your link is interesting but at the same time it can work. I used to holiday in the Bavarian Alps every year and in the countryside of Bavaria, all homes have to take their waste to recycling bins. It's a part of life there that people recycle daily or every few days. A bit like the bins provided at supermarkets here but there everything goes in to a bin.
Personally I think if people choose to live in the countryside then they should be asked to follow this model but at the same time tax incentives need to be implemented and provision in place for people with accessibility issues i.e. local jobs for local people.

That maybe ok for younger people Richard but what about the disabledd/OAP's who can't lump bags of rubbish around. Also the question people have to ask is, what am i paying my council tax for?
