If you could put a Mc Donalds drive through anywhere in North East Bristol where would you want it to go? Personally I'd say the ideal location in Lodge Causeway to serve Kingswood, Fishponds, Staple Hill, Downend, Mangotsfield, Eastville, St George West. Where would you like it?

I see they are looking to open one in the area - perhaps they'll go for Emersons Green as it's near the ring road and there is more huge development planned there in the coming years. Of course they already have a Drive-Thru down the road at Aspects Leisure Park.

    Hi Becky,
Yes I wondered what they call North East Bristol as it covers all of our wider community. While in talks with them I know that they are set on Fishponds Road and one site in particular but the owner of that site is having none of it. I think the old Hunters Land Rover Dealership on Lodge Causeway is ideal. Recent study has found that including the junctions along Lodge Causeway that it's busier than Fishponds Road itself and this site is ready to develop.

If anybody knows a site and it hasn't already been identified to them i.e. they weren't aware of the Lodge Causeway site until recently.. then let then know and if they build there you'll be entitled to £20,000

Really? I personally would like to see the end of them! I know people enjoy them, which is fine, but surely there are more than enough McDonalds around Bristol. If you want one, you can find one in less than 5 minutes..........in any direction!

There's pro's and con's to them Kwoodlad... I guess if nothing else they'll employ 50+ of our unemployed young people. Business usually grows up around them as well. In the Greater Fishponds Neighbourhood Partnership there's already Burger King, Subway, Pizza Hut, KFC and more.. plus IKEA Bristol which is more popular than all of them put together for fast food!
It'll be interesting to see where they open but as you say we're very close by car to Filton, Longwell Green and Bristol Central.

I think a McDonalds in Kingswood would go down a storm, the area could really do with one, I thought it would have happened some years before now tho... Let's hope they get a green light and it happens.

Totally agree Trucks79. We always thought that they would have taken on the old Jobcentre Area behind the banks on Hanham Road on the corner of the one way system which takes traffic past Cooperative.
Another spot which could be ideal is the old bank next to Kings Chase car park but I think the owner of Kings Chase is looking to buy this now..
I still think that Lodge Causeway is the ideal site.. it's just sat there doing nothing and is just £1m when Channons Hill Retail Park has recently sold for £6.25m and it's only 3 times the size and in a worst spot!
