The Chequers Pub, Lodge Hill, St George East in Kingswood
A friend has heard that The Chequers closed this week to be changed in to a wine bar at the front and a carvery at the back. Can anybody confirm this? It'll be fantastic news for the area if this is correct...

That's Fishponds Road, Staple Hill and Downend. A long street of individual shops mixed in with chain stores. But Kingswood has it's place, I really like and it should be a lot better once the new developments are complete. Just a shame about the empty shops along Two Mile Hill Road.
