Government set to extend flexible working to all

The right to request flexible working could be extended to all employees, under new proposals set to be unveiled by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.

Under the existing system, parents and some carers have the right to request flexible working arrangements, such as working from home or reducing their hours.

The proposals would allow all workers to request flexible working, including relatives, grandparents and close family friends who wish to provide help with childcare.
