The members of the 37th Kingswood Scouts band (Cadets and Seniors) took to the road for the first time in 2012 this weekend ... this time only as far as Thornbury Leisure Centre to take part in the South Gloucestershire Community Showcase along with many other local groups in an event organised by South West Winterguard Academy.

In front of an appreciative crowd, including a number of local VIPs, the groups started to blow off the winter cobwebs with a schedule that included martial arts displays, dancing and singing.
The 37th, with many new members who have joined up since their national triumph in October 2011, put on an informal musical display including music from Take That, Adele, the theme from Back to the Future and Band of Brothers. Click here to be redirected to YouTube to see some snippets.
After a very encouraging recruitment schedule the band have a few vacancies for their 2012 line up and are looking particularly for:
- brass players (aged 8-13) for their Cadet band and aged 13-25 for the Senior Band
- colour guard/dancers (aged 13-25) for their Senior Band
- and a trainee conductor/field commander for the Cadet band
