Can you help Police with information following a robbery in Bristol last Saturday?

The robbery occurred at 2pm on Saturday July 30, 2011. The victim, a woman in her 20s, was on Lodge Causeway near to the junction with Mayfield Avenue. A silver Vauxhall Cavalier stopped nearby and five men got out. One man threatened the victim with a knife and stole her handbag before all the men got back in the car. The vehicle drove off towards Berkley Road and turned right towards Speedwell.

Two men and a woman stopped to help the victim after the robbery. One man provided her with his jacket and they offered her a lift home.

A 33-year-old man from Bristol has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and released on police bail pending further enquiries.

An investigation into the robbery is underway. Police would like to speak to the three people who stopped to help as well as any other witnesses.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Avon and Somerset Police on 0845 456 7000. Alternatively, phone the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. They never ask your name or trace your call.

True but it will be nice if sites like localpeople and the evening post reported on the nicer things that happen in local communities as well. But of course every community has it's problems and this gang from somewhere in Greater Bristol just happened to target Fishponds on last week. Onwards and upwards.

Interesting... was this a young girl Trucks? A girl from the area was stopped by a Silver car and some black men tried to force her in the car. She managed to escape unhurt but shook up. I hope this is the same car so that they've caught the people responsible.
