A 23-year-old man is in hospital with life threatening injuries after he was hit by a car in Kingswood last night.

Pedestrian hit by car in Kingswood last night in critical condition: Police witness appeal.
The incident happened near to Kingswood Fire Station on Tenniscourt Road at about 9.15pm.
Police say the car that collided with the pedestrian was a Honda Civic.
The man from the Kingswood area was taken to Frenchay Hospital with life threatening injuries and remains in a critical condition.
Police closed the road for the force's Collision Investigation Unit to carry out a detailed examination of the scene. The road was re-opened at about 2:35am.
Police are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the incident. Anyone able to help is asked to contact the CIU on the force's non emergency number 101.

ReportUpdate: The police have named the man as Darren Thomas who lived locally. He died in hospital yesterday.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the accident to phone the police number, 101.

ReportMy husband works with the father of the young man, and the man, we have not heard any news on his condition since this morning, there are conflicting stories regarding this, we hope and pray that he is still with us, and until we hear otherwise there will be no more speculating.
