A house in Kingswood was struck by lightning on Sunday evening (January 27) - badly damaging the roof and chimney stack.
A lightning bolt struck the three-storey end terrace house in Britton Gardens.
The lightning bolt struck the three-storey end terrace house in Britton Gardens at about 7.30pm. Several vehicles parked nearby were also damaged by falling debris.
Fire crews from Temple, Kingswood, Speedwell and Avonmouth were called to the scene.
A spokesman for the fire service said: "The lightning ran through the property, forcing radiators away from walls. The lightning bolt also appears to have travelled outside and damaged a water main in the street."
Firefighters used a hydraulic platform to help remove potentially dangerous rubble from the roof. Heavy salvage sheets and a thermal imaging camera were also used.
The electricity supply to the property directly affected and several neighbouring homes was disrupted.
Fire crews were at the scene for around four-and-a-half hours.
