A traditional Chinese Lion blessed the opening of two brand new show apartments at Crest Nicholson's Harbourside development.

With the Chinese in the middle of their New Year celebrations, the colourful troupe wound its way through the development before entering the new sales and marketing suite where the Lion plucked a traditional lettuce which was hanging above the main door.

It is now hoped that the blessing will bring plenty of good fortune to the latest phase which is called Invicta.

In addition to the Lion Dance, visitors to the new marketing suite were able to meet Paralympic sprinter Ben Rushgrove who had brought along his medals for them to see.

Susan Young, sales and marketing director at Crest said: "With it being so close to the Chinese New Year it seemed appropriate to have a traditional Lion bless the new show apartments and marketing suite.

"It was great to celebrate the opening of the apartments with such a fabulous event and it certainly attracted a lot of interest from those keen to take a look at what we've got on offer, so seems to have brought us plenty of luck already.

"Those thinking of buying will also be interested to know that 2013 is the year of the snake with ancient wisdom saying that a snake in the house is a good omen. So if there was ever a good time to buy now is it!"

The two oversized, two-bedroom apartments showcase why the development is proving so popular to discerning house hunters wanting to live near to Bristol's historic floating harbour while giving a real flavour of the lifestyle many people now enjoy.

Featuring the very latest in mix of the latest colours, fabrics and furniture it is hoped they will help provide inspiration for house hunters looking to decorate their new home.

Susan added: "Both new show apartments highlight some of the latest interior designs and will give buyers some great ideas as to how they can use current trends in their own homes here at Harbourside.

"They also provide a real glimpse of what life would be like at the development."

Comprising 170 one, two and three-bedroom high-end apartments plus a number of one-bedroom studios, the variety of different styles and property sizes at Invicta has already attracted a lot of interest including first time buyers who will be able to take advantage of the First Buy shared equity scheme!

Once complete it will include an important pedestrian link called Millennium Promenade. Running from the Millennium Square to the Harbour Inlet it will complete the famous Brunel Mile and incorporate a rich ecological landscape with views across to the ss Great Britain.
