Anyone know what's happened at the Royal Archer pub in Lees Hill, Kingswood?

Boarded up again: the Royal Archer pub in Kingswood
I drove past today and all the windows are boarded up.
It underwent a refurbishment just a couple of years ago after standing empty for a while.

That's sad news Kat30, thanks very much for letting us know. But it's also good news to learn that the pub isn't lost.
I noticed that the Jolly Cobbler is available for a new lease as well this evening.
In the meantime anyone looking for a pleasant meal at a bargain price, visit the Turnpike in Soundwell for several meals listed in on their new year menu for just £2.99 each.
Bargain! Worth £4.99 easily.

ReportI am the captain of the ladies darts team at the royal archer, i have been told by the landlord that the pub will be shut until late feb/early march due to severe damage caused by the boiler breaking down and causing flood damage and the pub .the pub had to be gutted due to ceilings callapsing. The pub was also broken into over the christmas period.hope this answers your questions...

ReportThat's a shame, my friends parents once run this for several years and his father was a world class darts player as well.
I can't find any references of it's lease on the Pubcare website.
Hopefully this will not result in another lost pub in the Kingswood area. The Chequers near Cossham Hospital is still awaiting a new landlord.. there was local rumour that this was to change in to an carvery pub but unless the Melrose website is very out of date it doesn't look like this is still planned.
The Greyhound Pub on Lodge Causeway in Fishponds is currently advertising for a new landlord as well.

ReportThe lease has run out and the landlord didn't want to extend it and no one came to take it over hence the boards.
