Downend Library will play host to a producer from Nicaragua on Thursday.
Sesame seed grower Sandra Rojas will be sharing her experiences of the importance of buying fairly-traded products ahead of Fairtrade Fortnight which runs from February 27 to March 11.
Sandra will talk about her life as a Fairtrade farmer and how through choosing products which have been fairly traded, we can all do something to help support the life and work of her community.
There will also be products available to taste at the event, which begins at 7.30pm.
The talk is part of a series of events highlighting the importance of the Fairtrade movement and products. Sandra will be visiting a number of schools in South Gloucestershire and Bristol with around 2,000 children from primary school age to sixth form getting the opportunity to meet the producer and hear what life is really like growing food for us in remote tropical places.
South Gloucestershire became a Fairtrade area in 2009 which means it has made a commitment to supporting Fairtrade products and using products with the Fairtrade Mark.
