KINGSWOOD MP Chris Skidmore has called for a House of Commons debate on the NHS after a damning report into failings at a hospital.
The investigation into Stafford Hospital highlighted "appalling and unnecessary suffering" leading to hundreds of deaths from 2005-2008.
Speaking in Parliament, Mr Skidmore called on the Government to "make time for a full debate in this Chamber, so that MPs from all parts of the House can discuss the report and its conclusions".
Leader of the House Andrew Lansley said a debate would be considered.
Mr Skidmore has also asked the Prime Minister to investigate what he termed "utterly unacceptable" remarks made by former NHS chief Sir David Nicholson which implied families' concerns over care were "lobbying" .
