Bristol Rovers lost to Torquay, their manager Paul Buckle's former side today in front of a bumper crowd at the Memorial Stadium.

Byron Anthony managed to pull one back for Rovers after Taiwo Atieno and Rene Howe scored for the Gulls within the opening 15 minutes.

Rovers' next game is at home against Northampton Town on Tuesday at 7.45pm.

Meanwhile the Pirates have been given an away tie against Wycombe Wanderers in the first round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Ties will be played in the week beginning Bank Holiday Monday, August 29.
