Banks and property-related businesses were targeted in a smashing spree in Downend last night.

Among the shopfronts boarded up in Badminton Road today were Lloyds TSB, NatWest and HSBC. Next door the Yorkshire Building Society and BNS Management Services had replacement glass in the shopfront as did estate agents Besley Hill nearby.

On Twitter, Andrew Simmonds, MD of BNS Management Services, posted a picture of the damage and labelled the perpetrators "mindless bigots".
